I’ve been fascinated recently to learn more about the relationship between our diet and our mental health. Apparently, glucose spikes and dips can cause issues like brain fog, mood swings, anxiety, etc, according to French biochemist Jessie Inchauspé (also better known as the Glucose Goddess, and author of Glucose Revolution: The life-changing power of balancing your blood sugar).
Check out the link below for Jessie’s youtube on this topic, including research information and a few hacks to steady our glucose levels to improve our physical and mental health. I like how she reinforces that it’s not about dieting or counting calories. I particularly like the simple and do-able practice of changing the sequence of what we eat vs denying what your normally eat. Following this initial action step, we can observe ourselves. How was it to change a habit? How do we feel in our body and mind? And, over time, what else has come to our awareness?
