MINDFULNESS PRACTICE FOR LIVING ~ a 6-week series
This is a continuing series to encourage regular mindfulness practice.
The cultivation of mindfulness has permeated spiritual disciplines and philosophical discourse for thousands of years. Practicing mindfulness can help to reduce stress and anxiety as well as enrich and deepen our relationships. Through guided meditation, breath exercises, lively discourse and somatic exercises, we will explore how we can awaken to the deepest part of ourselves through practices we can apply to all areas of our lives. By exploring a new topic every week, we will experience what it means to live a truly integral and awakened life.

> Nanaimo - Postponed until fall (Dates TBC)
Fee: $90 for 6-week workshop (a 1.5 hour evening a week for 6 weeks).

MINDFULNESS PRACTICE FOR AN INTEGRAL LIFE
The practice of mindfulness can cultivate presence, centredness, and grounding. Did you know that the average person has 40,000 thoughts roaming through his or her mind on any given day, and about 80% of these thoughts are repeats from the previous day, week, month, or even year? This workshop brings together modern psychotherapy practice with Eastern and Western contemplative traditions. We will use breath and meditation to bring you to the fullness of the moment, allowing you to engage your sense of "being" and to live from the most authentic part of yourself.
> Facilitated by Kevin Parker, MA, RCC
> Nanaimo - series of two evenings 7 - 9pm, Oliver Woods Community Centre.
Fee: $50 for series of two workshops. Registration is through Nanaimo Parks, Recreation & Culture.
To register, call 250.756.5200 as of late summer/early fall. Upcoming info in fall/winter Leisure Guide.
