SURFING THE STORM: MINDFULNESS PRACTICE FOR STRESS REDUCTION ~ a 1/2 day workshop
The practice of mindfulness can be an excellent tool for navigating the chaos and complexities of our lives. In this workshop, gain tools and learn new practices to work creatively with your stress, anxiety, and discursive thought. Combining modern therapeutic practice with ancient wisdom, we will discover how stress affects the body, use breath to cultivate awareness, explore how posture affects moods, and deepen our connection to the Self and others. We will share practices that bring us into the fullness of the moment, allowing us to be in the "present" and to live from the most authentic part of our being, enriching our relationship to ourselves and others.
> Facilitated by Kevin Parker, MA, RCC, CCC, who has been practicing Vipassana meditation for 15 years and has learned from pioneers in transpersonal psychotherapy including Ram Dass, Stanislav Grof and Gabor Mate.

MINDFULNESS PRACTICE FOR AN INTEGRAL LIFE
The practice of mindfulness can cultivate presence, centredness, and grounding. Did you know that the average person has 40,000 thoughts roaming through his or her mind on any given day, and about 80% of these thoughts are repeats from the previous day, week, month, or even year? This workshop brings together modern psychotherapy practice with Eastern and Western contemplative traditions. We will use breath and meditation to bring you to the fullness of the moment, allowing you to engage your sense of "being" and to live from the most authentic part of yourself.
