Groups
Each of us has had experience being raised in group environments, either through our families, organized activities, school, or work. Group settings have a great impact on our growth and development as human beings.
Group counselling and therapy provides a setting where you can share issues and concerns, and gain awareness through the intervention of the group counsellor(s) or by observing, interacting, and receiving feedback from other group members. Typically, a group consists of six to twelve participants working with one or two clinical counsellors.
Here are some examples of group work we offer. If you are interested in participating, please contact us.
Mindfulness Practice group
This group meets weekly for a consecutive 6 - 8 weeks to practice
mindfulness approaches to bring us into the fullness of the moment,
enriching our mind, body and spirit. Bridging the East and West,
combining ancient wisdom and modern therapeutic practice, we use
breath and meditation to build self awareness and presence, and to
cultivate a deeper connection to the Self and others.
Couples Group therapy
A supportive setting where couples can discuss their feelings and
problems, share their struggles and solutions, as well as observe,
reflect on, give and receive constructive feedback on how to deal
with relationship issues. The focus will be on communication,
including speaking, expressing needs, listening, negotiating, and
managing conflicts.
Movie Lovers Group
A shared interest group where we use movies and narrative therapy
with a goal towards psycho-education, healing and transformation.
Grief & Loss group
Loss is a part of life, and grief is a natural part of the
healing process. You may have experienced a loss of a loved one
recently. Or it may have been years since you lost that special
someone, yet you are still seeking closure. In this group, we honor
and support each other’s journey of loving and letting go, through
intimate sharing and creative modalities such as art, poetry,
journaling, narrative, and more. Interested participants will be
pre-qualified in order to ensure group cohesion.
